How to Resolve Nursing Home Problems

Eric Carlson of the National Senior Citizens Law Center (NSCLC), a nationally-recognized expert on nursing home rules and regulations, will lead this special class on resolving nursing home problems.

Mr. Carlson is an attorney with the NSCLC, and author of many publications and articles on long-term care and nursing home issues. He is currently lead counsel in Resident Councils of Washington v. Leavitt, a nationwide class action challenging the federal government's reduction in nurse aide training requirements.

In an interactive program (bring your questions), Mr. Carlson will cover topics including,

  • Equal treatment of Medi-Cal -eligible nursing home residents
  • Creating care plans that include the resident's choices
  • Accommodating resident preferences
  • Limiting use of physical restraints
  • Payment for services
  • Evictions
