Attorney Ed Long, executive director of H.E.L.P., has received the inaugural Powley Elder Law Award.

The Award, presented at the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys national Institute in Colorado Springs, recognizes his demonstrated commitment to promote a greater understanding of the rights and needs of the elderly. It was established in memory of Wes and Helen Powley and is funded by the Takacs Family Foundation. Accompanying the award was a $1,000 cash grant to H.E.L.P.
