H.E.L.P.'s Annual Drive Aims for $50,000

H.E.L.P.'s annual membership drive, which seeks to raise $50,000 to support services for older adults and families, is now underway according to Kimberly Brooke, Director of Development and Operations for the Torrance-based non-profit agency. "All it will take is $50 from 1,000 generous donors to allow us to reach this goal," Brooke pointed out, explaining that demand for the agency's services has continued to grow.

"To meet the growing demand," Brooke explained, "H.E.L.P. is in the midst of an aggressive expansion program. We've doubled our full-time staff, and our goal is to double our most labor intensive helpings each month by the end of 2004."

Brooke noted that the annual drive is an important part of the expansion program because "individual and family donors have consistently provided 70% or more of our total contributions. They've helped us help older adults in the past," she pointed out, "and now we are calling on them to help some more."

She added that this year H.E.L.P. has made contributing easier by arranging for secure credit card donations online through the agency's www.help4srs.org web site.
