Older adults are often a target for investment and telemarketing scams. Seniors Against Investment Fraud (SAIF), an educational campaign of the California Department of Corporations (DOC), provides information to help protect older adults from investment fraud.

An information packet about SAIF is available on the DOC web site by going to www.corp.ca.gov/saif/saif.htm and clicking on "Information Packet." The packet includes descriptions of common investment scams and tips to help prevent older adults from becoming victims. The packet also recommends calling the DOC's toll-free telephone number (1-866-ASK-CORP) before purchasing any financial product.
