The November 2003 issue of Consumer Reports includes an article intended to
help consumers answer the question: "Is long-term care insurance right for you?"
In a report that has been called a "hatchet job" for commenters in the insurance industry, Consumer Reports concluded that long-term care
insurance is inappropriate for most people. The report discusses various
aspects of long-term care insurance policies, such as how much coverage is
provided and how a person's age affects the purchase. For those who decide
to buy a policy, the report includes criteria to help in choosing the most
appropriate policy.
