The American Medical Association's "Physician's Guide to Assessing and Counseling Older Drivers," now available at www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/10791.html, includes handouts for patients and their family members.

The handouts include a driving safety self-assessment quiz, driving safety tips, suggestions for how to manage without driving and information helpful to friends and family members of older drivers. In addition, the guide includes a state-by-state listing of licensing requirements, licensing renewal procedures and physician reporting requirements.
