Who We Are
Older Adults are faced with many challenges, which directly impact their quality of life:They must plan for the future and deal with the present. They must make decisions on important subjects (retirement programs, maintaining their homes, health care coverage, estate planning, nursing home issues, government benefits, etc.). Along the way, they must contend with incorrect information, an increasingly complex world, "scam artists," and added stresses tied to declines in their own health and well-being.
General
H.E.L.P. is a community-funded, non-profit (charitable) information resource for Older Adults. Its goal is to help Older Adults maintain independence and create better futures. H.E.L.P. also assists friends and family members to help Older Adults.
H.E.L.P. provides information, planning and problem-solving services, on legal, governmental program and care-related issues that specially impact Older Adults. H.E.L.P. does this in three ways:

Tax-Exempt Status
H.E.L.P. is public charity and an Internal Revenue Code § 501(c)(3) organization. No part of the net income or assets of H.E.L.P. will inure to the benefit of any director, officer, or member of H.E.L.P., or to the benefit of any private person. H.E.L.P. has received its § 501(c)(3) determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service.
Staffing
H.E.L.P. has a full-time paid staff of six, and part-time staff of two. More than 40 people actively volunteer their time at H.E.L.P.
